hjxz/wb bullbar difference

my daughter bought a bullbar for her hj 1 tonner. didnt fit. looked around the bar and found its for a wb. they have different shape and the mounting brackets dont fit into the slot in the cowling where the bumper comes from and 1 bolt hole on each side is wrong. so anybody not in the know watch out. they arnt the same.
we will make it fit but i really didnt need all the extra work.

i know my dad fitted a bullbar off a wb and put it on a hj we had to shave a few mm off the length of the tops of each bracket to make it fit

i blew the grinder up on the first one. its just been one of those weeks. i put my back out on sunday, blew the cruiser front diff up on monday, borrowed the wifes vt commodore tuesday and the ignition siezed on it, cost 400 to fix. took my daughters 1 tonner wednesday and the engine started to rattle. cheap oil from the mechanic. fixed that then started to fit the bar and the grinder shat its self. oh what a week. im still looking for the bus load of chinamen i killed

just went through this myself too, although i was told that the bll bar was for a hz and wasnt, im guessing it was for a wb. had to get a mate to give a hand cutting it apart and welding back together... it looks good now, and was real cheaop for what it was, so was still a good buy, but would have been nice to have been warned that i would have to do it

Well i dont know what your on about.

My bullbar is a home made bullbar for a HQ holden ute, it bolted strait into my ute,

No mods, no grinding etc.

Just must be the way the bullbars are made.

hq/j/x/z will bolt to a wb but not the other way around. the wb has a recessed bumper bar where the others dont. the mounting brackets are too big to fit in

PRICELESS!!
