Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: TIME WASTED BY WA POLICE Figure 3. "Nudge Bar" Design for Metropolitan Use For City Vehicles For metropolitan use, a "Nudge Bar" design is preferred. (See Figure 3) The bar should be angled backward to present the lowest possible point of initial contact with a pedestrian. The overall height of the bar should be kept as low as possible. this is the only thing in it that says anything about leaning back and as in my post above i said it relates to nudge bars in the city use ... when it comes to Country cars it says this For Country Vehicles Vehicles that travel extensively on country roads may need a higher level of protection against a collision with an animal such as a kangaroo or an emu. In this case the more traditional bull bar design may be desirable. The front face of the bull bar should not lean outward from the vehicle. The overall height of the bar should be kept as low as possible. It should not protrude above the front of the bonnet line. As i have said in meany other post on this subject and being a welder fabricator and have made meany things to comply with goverment guidlines Bull Bar Construction Guidelines is open to interptashon and are really quite vage and really any one could argue the point till the cows come home IE the point is made that with the bar leaning back it lowers the point of contact there for makeing it more legal evan thow with iven bars leening back they make it very clear to you that they DO NOT garentee that the bar is legal ... but the " coutry use bullbars " it only says that the bar needs to NOT lean forwords ... ther for it still can be vertical ... the next point could be made that I drive a lowers ss holden ... the bar i would fit to it would not be any higher than the lowest point on a bar that is fitted to some 4x4 ... point being that it has a low point of contact there for making it more legal ... this is wat i mean a smart person could talk there way around the matter till the cows come home but there is a lot of roomers and bull crap flying around about wat is and isn't legal ... this is why i said that ppl should not lissen to the roomers and do there own invesagashon and make up there own mind and fit wat they feel is most legal ...

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | hey guys, I have been a new guy for a bit and this is my first post, just reading up about this whole 5 poster fiasco, I can't believe the government has whipped the producers of this land again (that being rural people, no offence intended) I am a red p-plater and I am familiar with the crazy and stupid laws the government pulls out of their asses to "help" us. I feel that this 5 poster rule is much the same, sure the bull bars are flashy and nice on the eyes but they also serve a very important purpose in protecting the occupants of the vehicle and the vehicle itself. I do not agree with these "canaries" as i come from nsw but could anyone give me a low down on wat they are ( fine, points off license ect) Cheers ![]() |

most that have a 5 poster and get stickered for it have to take the bullbar off either theyve kept the original front bumper or they find one they can use to take vehicle ofer pits then once stickers off they bolt the 5poster back on and starts the cycle again...................... hope this helps mate... cheers Laura | ||

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: TIME WASTED BY WA POLICE It really depends on where you get pulled over whether the cops are going to let you pass or not. I have lights across the bullbar of my ute and only Fremantle cops have picked me for them and gone passed lots of police cars since them and they havent pulled me over. When they did i went onto the internet and got the laws regarding marker lamps and they are perfectly legal according to what was written. Cops really need to read up on the laws because they are continually changed. But then i hate the fact that if they see a ute with lights on it and a bullbar they automatically think they are a hoon... |
