I've copyed this over from a differant thred (dounuts in the suburbs ) http://www.beaututes.com/have-whinge...tml#post130395 I have to agree with some of the statments on this post and have mostly the same oppinion is the city try hards ... but i would like to descuss one point maid by sharpy...... I Fully Support the Ban Bullbars campain , ONLY in the citys where bullbars are not needed, and are useless accessorie and an penis extension1st of all this is not to have a go at SHARPY i have nothing agenst him but this opinion is held by meany ppl and i will also point out i do not have a bull bar on my ute and i live in WA with the crapyest bullbar law going around ... I live in wat is classed as city thow i do live on a bit of land 45k south of Perth 10 years ago it was concided to be country but with all the development its now city, despit this i do NOT call my self country as im not! but im shore as hell ant city ether ... my point being is that thow i live in the "city" i have a very real need to have a good bullbar ... Wats the primery reason for and bullbar? ... ROO's Any one who has live on the outer easten side of perth would tell you that you can be in the center of the city and in 30 min be a roo country crist i can hit a 6foot roo at the end of my own drive way and im only 45k south east of the CBD !!!! and theres atleast 6 dead roos on the HWY between Armadale and Byford a week dam i have a 5 foot roo liven on my blok!!!! My GF family has a farm 2hours north of perth and theres some sopts im down to 60kph cos of the roo's ...and as i live south of the city i have to drive through the city to head to her farm. i know at least 20 ppl liveing in the city that come from the farms hundreds of klm away some are here for work and some for uni but they all head home every few weeks .. they all have a good reason to have a bull bar ... so in the end i live in the "city " most of my driveing is a country and i DO have a need for a bullbar along with meany others i know ... so i think a BLANKET statment maid by meany ppl that bullbars in the city are not needed i think is a unjust statment ...

I'm not classed as living in the city or in the country I'm Classed as semi-rural so where do i fit? we have a huge roo problem at home and bullbars are a nessecity if you can put one on your car (I cant i drive an excel) but the problem lies that we drive both city and country how do you decide if we should have them or not and who gets to make that desicion? people need to think long and hard about who they think should hae bullbars and who shouldnt because the lines are not as clear cut as you might think |

| Re: bullbar in the city ... I would just like to say that there are some people who live in the "city" due to work comittments.....their utes do actually see roos etc AND their weekends are spent at Balls/Shows etc catching up with mates that they went to school/uni with. I think that people should really think before they speak and then also walk a mile in someone elses shoes before they comment on their lifestyle/ute/living arrangements. I do agree that yes, there are some buttheads out there that are giving the Australian Ute Scene a bad name. Us decent people in the Ute Scene need to just set a good example and hopefully the rest will follow..

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: bullbar in the city ... Interesting comments about city and country people - who needs bullbars etc. I have met some people who try to fit in with the ute scenery and be someone who they aren't. I have noticed over the years of being involved in the ute thing that there are people who cover their utes with accessories (eg. bullbars) purely to follow the fashion statement of having a ute and not realising the need to have one. I lived in the city once (studying/working) and luckily I was never pulled up by cops down there cos there was some crap on that thing the cops would've loved to canary me for. Overall the point is that no matter where you live its about whether you really need a bullbar or any other stuff on ya ute. If ya in roo country once a year then you really don't need one! It makes the law tougher for those who do need them. |

| Re: bullbar in the city ... Bundy Mum - what do you class as 'roo country'?? Here in Canberra it's not uncommon to come home from work at 4pm and find a big roo sitting on your front lawn basking in the warm sun.... The biggest casualty on the roads down here are roos - even when you're almost right in the city.... Some of us may live in the city, but we do still have a need for bullbars. We don't just stay in the city all the time. I've got property in Yass as does my boyfriends family so we're travelling to yass a fair bit. Plus, we've got mates that are on property's within 2 hours drive of us that we get out to a bit - another reason for the bullbars.... After having an incident on the way to Condo Summer BnS this year, i'm glad we had the bullbar on!! If not, i may not have been sitting here writing this now.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: bullbar in the city ... Trashman I understand where you are coming from. I live in the same area and class myself as niether city or country. I also know the stretch of road between Byford and Armadale- I drove it every night for 13 years when I was on night shift. I would not be without a bar on my car, especially driving at night. So people can judge me if I need a bar or not- but its my choice and I feel it is needed |
