Well G'day these laws RE Bullbars are stupid as ya may or may not know I have a Platt Bar on me RTV and there is a cop in town apparently on the pedestrian council he dont like me bar as it leans forward and apparently has sharp edges and dont folow the contours of the vehicle.

Does anyone know the future? answer is NO
Do any one of you WA guy's and girls know for sure if you will one day take ya ute or car or 4x4 around this top Country Australia one day, maby you may meet some one that is and say "how bout we tag along for the trip "
What im saying is your mode of transport should be able to go into any state and be legal . THE LAWS OF AUSTRALIA SHOULD BE THE SAME WHEN IT COMES TO VEHCLE STANDARDS ..
ADR compliancy wont change all the time,The local laws change more often and the local police make up their own interpritation of it all when they want.
If any one is going to take action against the bullbar manufactures please let every one know as it concerns us all even in the East ( Im moving over to WA in October or November as are a few other people I think)

Well as soon as we are done seeding i am taking the bar to get it assessed by an engineer and see what they say if it is wrongly mannufactured then i will be going to irvin and if they dont do anything i will start a case against them AND i will inform everyone

Yep, he said the same thing to me when i ordered it, bloody fantastic service too. I know it is illegal going by WA laws, as it leans forward slightly, but touch wood, i havent had any trouble with the local constabulary about it (Northam coppers had a bad rep with stickering anything with abullbar for a while). If i do, no need for tears as shes all easy street as i know where to go to get it sussed, as a mechanic (and vehicle inspector) friend of mine is convinced that it is allowable.

I nearly bought one of the Irvin bars, but they said it would be a 3 week wait. haha i wanted my bar NOW so i went to ARB in Northam and ordered one as he said it would take 2 weeks. Admittidly, it took 6 (lol) but i dont care as i think it looks damn sexy. And after heaing all this, i am glad i went for it.

sounds like WA is going nuts over the whole bullbar thing. One things for sure then, as soon as the cruiser gets to WA it sure as heck aint been driven around coz the cops will definitely NOT like the bullbar on it hahaha
as for the RTV, well the bullbar company that made it dont want to hear anything about the troubles that we've been having with a certain local copper.

now seeings that Bullbar paid roughly $2500 for this bar he is pretty pi**ed off about how this copper and vicroads have said that it is "illegal".

and funny thing is a mate of ours who lives near Benalla got canaried for her ute for the base of the aerials were too wide, things hanging from the rear-view mirror and the bullbar sat too high. She drives a BA ford ute XLS model I think. She took the aerials off, went to Vicroads and they cleared it. They couldnt find a problem with her bullbar. Her bullbar is the same type of shape as Bullbar's but has smaller sized tubing/pipes.
So, how can one Vicroads pass a bullbar and one fail it if they are both of the same type of shape??? and on similar vehicles. My feeling is that its because the RTV sits higher off the ground then normal???
its all just a load of bulls**t

i seen th damage done to his ute at warrona theres more to it than just th bar design how bout th speed factor on gravel you don't get that impact at 20km/h ??

to have the bar tested properly, will require sending it to one of two airbag compliance testers, they are located in Adelaide and Brisbane, It will cost $2000 to have it done. I had it quoted a couple of weeks ago.
