| Re: kingwoods holdens 2 things- 350 chev would be the biggest mistake you could make kerrie. For a start you would killyourself in that bloody thing and you would have to expect less than 320km to a tank full of petrol. Remember apprentice wages are shit mate. Try for something with a 202-4spd or trimac auto. no more than 300 000km on the clock. You know my number, i can give you better description.

| Re: kingwoods holdens hey mate im from vic too and u can drive a 253ci V8. its under the power to weight ratio. a 308 is JUST over, but ive never heard anyone get pulled up for it. a 350 is way over. this is for vic, in nsw u cant drive a V8 at all. other states prob the same. id recommend get a 253, has heaps more torque great for pulling loads and trailers, a 202 can be a bit slack. and the sound of the 8! just make sure u get the ute looked at first, u dont know wat crap u get in the old holdens, just be careful ey. that said...first car would be better to have a 4 or 6, until u are confident. the other thing...having a v8 and a rear-wheel drive car is dangerous unless ya know wat ur doing. i got an all-wheel drive for my first until i knew the limits, and even then (after a year) going into the WB took some learning, especially in the wet. hope that helps ey.

| Re: kingwoods holdens sorry i didnt know that the restriction had come into vic...its effective from 1 July 2007. cant drive a V8, or petrol powered turbo or supercharged car. so get ur licence before then hehe! thats if u want an 8. otherwise go for ur 202 in the ute, that will be fine. suks balls these restrictions, there a 4 cyl cars that are stock that go faster than an old V8. the power to weight ratio was more effective. no one took notice anyway haha. but there is a $1100 fine in vic now who knows if its going to be policed much or not. insurance may be a problem though.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: kingwoods holdens Hi there be real careful when buying an older Holden. I had a HG (202) wagon that used more fuel than my monaro. You could always look for a 6cyl one on gas. Anyway have someone who knows about cars look at it first before you buy. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Re: kingwoods holdens i agree with sharpy, being your first car a six cyl is the way to go,cheap to run. v8 utes can be a handfull to drive ,especially on wet roads.they can be dangerous, and you will need experience to drive to be safe. thats the main thing safety. you should find a clean hz wb for around 3k.
