WA Government Going Too Far????

Well, this is the story.

I was having a yarn with the guy from Irvin Bullbars in Perth the other day.

He told me that the WA Government is now seriously considering banning 5 post bullbars on trucks. And not just light trucks, they are talking about banning the on ALL vehicles in WA - cars, utes, vans, light trucks, prime movers.

Mmmmmmmmm, yep, pedestrians are gunna be a hell of a lot safer once they remove bullbars from trucks. What a joke.

I wonder what will happen when a truck hits a cow with these new aerodynamic safe bullbars... My bet is all the shaped metal etc will fold, and in comes the cow, saying g'day to the motor, radiator etc.
If this goes ahead, look out! A lot of Interstate carriers are not going to just take a perfectly good bullbar off a truck, and replace it, just so they can drive into WA. It is hard enough for most truckies to make a quid these days, let alone having to change a perfectly good bullbar...
When will the WA Government stop???

My mate purchased a Stirling Prime Mover a year ago, and it has a new flash bullbar... He hit a roo and bent the lower section, which is just sheet steel. Imagine what would happen if it was a cow!
If he had posts there, it would not have been a drama!

what a joke. trucks in particular need their bullbars as a safety measure. if pedestrians are that bloody stupid that they are going to step out infront of a truck then they deserve what they get i reckon. Having a Dad, Uncle & big brother who are all truckies, i just reckon this is ridiculous. How do the city people think they are going to get their produce when trucks are hitting cows, sheep, roos etc out on the open roads with no protection. Oh thats right, Milk just comes from a carton that appears in the supermarket fridge.

Butcher???? I just thought they lived in fridges, and b4 you eat them you gotta remove their plastic skin.

I don't know how much truth there is in this, but the guy at Irvin was a little concerned, and I doubt he would make it up since it is his livelihood at stake.

exactly right. they obviously havent seriously considered all the issues involved in a decision like this one.

that is a joke like dray said if ya dumb enough to walk out in from of a car or truck you deserve what ya get. Truckies pay out enough expsese not to metion if they got these new bull bars how much more damge there is gonna be to trucks and if not death with the new bull bars. 5 posters have that extra strength which protects truck and person they pratcically bounce anything that hits them off.

My pop drives a kenny with the five posters, and boy has hit many a kangaroo with them. He reckons that if they were to get rid of them he'll be stuffed, because before he got the kenny he was driving around with the poxy merc that only has three posters and they've torn into the truck.
