Bars for R8's

G'Day All,
Looking to pick up a 6L R8 Y Series soon and was wondering if there are any issues with fitting a roo bar (other than airbag compliance etc.) or whether anyone knows of a manufacturer that specifically operates in this type of market?

I don't have the need for a 5 poster (mainly deal with 4 foot wallabies). The car will mostly be driven in the city but is regularly taken up through the Tassie highlands, From Vic to the Snowies the back ways (Omeo, Corryong, Suggan Buggan, etc) and lots of other back roads from here to Sydney and Brisbane.

Unfortunately, night driving is a must on these trips and I am NOT in a position where I can get stuck somewhere with front end damage and the front ends of these things are REAL flimsy!

I need something solid enough to cover the possibility of a good whack and still have me driving - yet city friendly.

If the fitted bumper has to come off - so be it. Probably practically better off as the HSV VS I've had for 5 years or so is way too low at the "bumper"/spolier!

Thanks,
TD

Re: Bars for R8's

TD I would suggest that you talk to Bullbar (on this site) as he has an RTV with a 5 poster on it. Other than that you could try talking to SW Platt bullbars in Orange. They may have some knowledge on the subject.
Good l;uck,

Dinks.
