| Re: Food Dye yep spitting is just wrong....but anyother way is fine...but i hate how they are killing it off by saying no food die....If they just let it in there would not be any problems with the die at balls and u wouldn't have to get kicked out then

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Re: Food Dye I agree, No spitting the good ol color o life at a ball, had it happen to me so many times i have lost count, it actually hurts the eyes when mixed with alcohol as well. Bring on the water guns like they have here in bloody hot WA, it makes it more fun as well coz you can chase em down and shoot em up, hehe... It is a sad and unfortunate thing that they ( the committees) are trying to ban it, i dont see clearly why... But it is part of the tradition of a ball and i for one would like to see that part continue. As most of the people who know me will say i dont look rite if im not covered in the stuff. So NO to SPITTING and keep the tradition alive.

| Re: Food Dye this can of worms recently started on nsw bns connections. and i left this a comment thats easy to remember: If you dont know the guy Dont throw the dye If you dont know the chick Dont flick the shit its simple keep it to your mates, and dont spit it either. i like the idea of water pistols. I dont mind the dye i rekon its great fun to see what kinda colour you are the next morning, and its not hard to get off. Plus we all love the stories when someone asks us what happened (baking a cake and it exploded.....it was a big cake lol) not to mention the looks we get on the way home - little kiddies sittin in mum n dads car with their faces pressed up aganst the window looking like we landed on earth from outer space lol.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Re: Food Dye Yeah from what i have heard WA balls have one up on the rest of teh country in the dye department. we are allowed to have it, so we water it down and put it in water pistols, instead of spitting it. that way everyone gets cooled down and it very rarely stains because its watered down. i love food dye when its being sprayed in a gun. last inseminators i had this joy super soaker. that made it just that bit more fun ![]()

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: Food Dye Yep thats where i got the idea from thought i would ask here and see what people think. Some older people dont like it but then again some do. Biscuit: there were some toolberrys spitting it at Bri i heard of 2 spittin it at the securityand the only reason they didnt get kicked out was because they said sorry and all there dye was tken off them. To be honest if you spit it you should be out on ur a$$ its just nasty.... Just thought i would give all the ladies a tip for the food dye in ur hair... 2 table spoons of bicarb power and ur normal shampoo and it should come out. If not it might take a few goes. But i have blonde hair and it comes out first go with the bi carb |

I have a good laugh playing around with mates. I also think that if you are not armed with the stuff joining in the yahoo of squirting ppl, then they should respect it if you say please dont. Ive heard alot of people talk about how food dye is a tradition, but Ive heard even more say that it has only been around for a few years or so...that its not really a tradition. More so to ppl who have only been going for that long. I would love to go to a bns with no dye...I have no worries in getting filthy dirty, covered in alcohol staggering drunk rolling in the dirt haha...but something about the dye makes things so grotty. | |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: Food Dye food die isn't a bns ball tradition, apparently it was brought in to make it obvious who the bns virgins were but people took it too far and now look at it! food die is banned at all balls...even wa balls. Check out their advertisements, they usually say NO FOOD DIE but everyone does it anyway. I don't mind the stuff but agree with ya'all that spitting it is friggin wrong and shouldn't be done, i do find it amusing that all these people are walking around multi coloured, its pretty funny. But on the other hand, like you Kel i would be happy to go to a bns and get dirty and filthy and covered in alcohol and mud without the food die. Would be good to have bns balls go back to more of the original setup as Rocky in Qld have done, making them not so much of a feral bush bash and more of a ball. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Re: Food Dye nup i love the feral bush bash, lol and from what i have seen in the past 4 years balls in WA have actually got tamer. the food dye is the most feral aspect that is left, and i absolutely love it! spitting is not on though, bust if its in a water gun, i say bring it on, coz ill be armed with a decent sized super soaker. lol the first rainmakers & inseminators i went to when the alcohol was unlimited it was the most feral afair i have seen at a B&S. they have quietened down alot since then

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Re: Food Dye This is one of those conversations that will never grow old. The food dye is not a tradition, although it seems to be catching on and becoming one in its own right. As Sarra said it was easy to see who was a b&s virgin, but now people throw it about like it is going out of fashion. The older folk who have been going to balls since they started either in their local area or from travelling, say that it is fairly new, but has changed from sheep marker to food dye. The whole argument over food dye v no food dye will probably never change. The newer generation of ball goers only know the food dye fights and therefore will keep it alive. I can understand where the committee comes from, the aftermath of a ball can be devesating to the area in which it was held and all the rubbish along the way. Also the fact that some people are allergic to food dye can pose a threat to their licence if someone is seriously injured from a food dye fight. I've only been introduced to the b&s scene since 2005, and I am no way stating I know it all, but in this sort period of time, I have seen the nature of the balls change. Every year bring a new crowd and a new bunch of trouble makers. The theft, fights, unruly behaviour and general lack of respect has increased so much so that many of the original ball goers now quit the scene due to this. I have to say the whole spitting incidents is disgusting and wrong. The germs are one thing to worry about, not to mention the way in which people react when being spat on... It has nothing to do with a "city" v "country" attitude because both parties are at fault. It is generally the younger crowd who have the lact of respect for others. Men and women, town and country. Not saying it is everyone who has only turned 18 and only just experiencing their first round of balls, but it seems to be in the younger crowds. Personally, I do not mind a bit of food dye here and there. I usually end up being covered head to foot from my mates. I steer clear of the people who look to be going crazy, to me it is common sense. You can tell those who are new to those who've been around for a few years. Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: Food Dye So True BundyDrunk. There is so much lack of respect for others. mUTHA, did you go to Inseminators in Sept? I agree with you that for the most part the water guns get left at the gate, but lately Ive noticed it creeping inside. I managed to stay relatively dye free at Muresk. When I woke up the next day I discovered I was covered in dye from someone throwing it around in the tent. Im guessing one of the drinks I thought was a drink from a can was not. The older crew are so different from the younger breed coming through now. I reckon Quairading used to be the best, but now after the last couple years and things being stolen utes being broken into. Its just getting less and less fun. Im finding I have more fun at ute musters, you can pretty much do all the same things with less crap. |

| Re: Food Dye i have no problem with food dye. at muresk bns 07 ball. i was covered with flour and food dye within 20mins of getting there. my mates covered me. i dont care if a stranger covers me with a water gun but if they spilt it, its a different story. one of the reasons why i love the line ups at the wa bns is that most throw fooddye and stuff in the lineup not in the bns tent. also food dye isnt hard to get off.

| Re: Food Dye I agree Jarrad, I got the most covered at inseminators, was an absolute gin, could of started claiming payments from the government, but because its watered down it came off easier than the straight stuff in SA. WA balls the food dye comes out in the line up, where as in some of the eastern states balls, theres no lineup so the die comes out in the actual ball. Quite honestly, I'd prefer straight food dye to sheep marker ANY day. And traditions have to start somewhere, whos to say when something officially becomes a tradition and when it doesnt. I only spray people if I see they have a gun in their hands, they're a mate or they've said they dont mind being sprayed, if someone asks to not be, I dont, its that simple, its just respectful, I wouldnt want someone to get me if I asked to not be.
