unfortunately due to liqour licencing & insurance risks, a lot of balls HAVE to have the NO FOOD DYE signs up. And it's then up to them to enforce this rule

I'm like most people - I hate it being spat but don't mind having a little bit sprayed or thrown on me. It get's a bit painful in the winter months though when a nice cold cup of blue rum get's poured over you - nice way to get a chill!!

I think that the younger ones/virgins are the biggest culprits for the food dye. They too will eventually wake up to themselves & either stop with the food dye or keep in within their group of friends who don't mind.
It's then up to the security, ball committee & us older ones/ball regulars who need to pull them into line so that they know when enough is enough....

this needs to get under control otherwise we will loose our balls....

Well i've been to a few BnS's now and each time (except inseminators 07) i have not wanted food dye on me. Just because i have sensitive skin and wasnt sure if it would affect my eczema or not. anyhow numerous times i ended up in huge arguments with people because i asked them not to put it on me and numerous times i got the same line "Dont F***** come to a bns if you dont want food dye on you, ur a loser" etc. well thats the gist of it anyway. But why should people talk to me like that. i am more then entitled to go to a BnS, have fun, get a bit filthy and drunk but it is completely within my rights not to have food dye on me.
I gave up at inseminators though i just couldnt be bothered arguing so i put up with it. and i looked horrible and it did stain a little bit regardless of how much i washed. Food dye can stain some peoples skin depending on their skin types. I have never taken food dye and never will.
I dont really see much of a point. Some people think its fun i spose. But i much rather just drink myself silly and just dance and hang out with mates, not running around on a mission to see how many people i can get. That is just my opinion though. I just wish more people would take more notice.
Keep it between friends, respect people, listen to others(if they dont want it on them go find someone who does), and dont spit....... Coz that is friggin disgusting and heaven knows what germs some people have!
As for the tradition, they keep changing with BnS's considering it used to be a formal ball for single people. Now all walks of life go, and it can be feral. It will only keep changing as the years go on!
Anyhow i dont mean for anyone to take offence this is just my opinion!

Have never had a big issue with it as long as people don't spit it. Food dye is pretty harmless and it would be quite rare for someones' skin to react to it, definitely better than dyemark or rattle like the old days! Regardless it is now part of the package with BnS nights, I think the increase in thievery and nasty attitudes is much more of a problem.

I dont mind the food die mainly cause with the friends i have ya have ta not mind it.

I was the girl at narrabri walking around before the ball had really started, absolutely covered in it already, as soon as i got out of my friends booze bus in my bns clothes i got sprayed then a bottle on the head.

What i hate is people throwing it right in my eyes, or throwing drinks in my face that stung the hell out of my eyes.

and i agree NO SPITTING, a few people did it to me and it is gross as!!

but yeah i dont mind it too much, i love seeing what colours people come out the next morning!!
and it seems to come out of my hair pretty easily, which is a blondey colour

G'day all
From a ball goer and a Committee member, we do not have a real issue with food dye, the reason that we are trying to restrict it within our balls is due to liquor licencing requirements, "Apparently" i was told it is due to the person not being identifiable when asked to produce ID (not sure of the source of that info). I know in most committees situations they would prefer to see less food dye for the sake of our ball being ongoing into the future rather than having it shut down.
Either way keep the ball tradition going

Spitting food dye on someone is a pritty descusting thing to do+ ya dont know what the persons got who spits it ie cold ect. "Its just not cricket mate"

yeah ok spitting is kinda wrong, but if its me mates i dont care they can do whateva they want il still have a laugh...

and as of throwing it etc... the more the better, especially at clean skanky looking chicks who look up themselves!!!!!!
