We are one, yet we are many.

We are all from somewhere else. I have heard it said that if your ancestors were not from an Australian indigenous tribe, then you are from somewhere else.

I was born on this beautiful paddock, but my ancestors were a mixed lot.

I have traced back and found that my immediate family (father) came from Rochester (UK)…he was a member of the 5th Royal Tank Regiment, and came to Australia after WWII. But back from there my generations were from France, Germany, Italy and Croatia…I guess that makes me a mongrel.

I call myself an Australian, mate…and bloody proud of it.

I am 5th (i think) generation Australian, with grandfathers that served for Australia in WWII. Relations that have been in army etc since then. Going back we are a mixed bag, American, English, lots of Irish (which explains alot if you know me). I have relations that have been involved in working outback oz and generations of family that have been farmers. Yet people still say that I am not a true australian. In this day and age of multi-culturalism and diversity I don't think you can get much more true blue, dinky di bloody aussie.

I was born in our nations capital, Canberra... My parents were both born here and my grandparents as well.
I call my self Australian and well Im "Austruckinfalian and proud of it mate"
Yet my ancestors originally come from both Scotland and Ireland.. So does that make me any less Australian?
I dont think so and i wont be told otherwise, a few people have tried but they soon get told..

i was born in australia. both my parents where born in australia yet my dads mother was born in australia but his father was born in germany n my mother mother was born in australia yet her father was born in italy but they all moved to australia. so i call my self a aussie

Me and my folks are Aussie born, My parents folks are Irish, Welsh and English. My kids have Scottish and Spanish in them as well from my hubby's side.
I like the second verse of the national anthem better than the first.

My Dad was born here, he's actually a Vietnam Vet, he has English Irish Welsh in him and my mum has Spanish and Filipina in her... I was born in Freo and i consider myself 100% AUSSIE MADE!!

Well I'm born and bred here in our great land of Australia. I love it and will alway's do so. And I don't have big piss ups out in the bush and leave all my rubbish behind making my land look like a dump site. So those in glass houses should throw stones, as they may smash thing.
