Unusual Places Names in Australia

As a resident of 'Blowhard' I've been given a bit of flack over my time...
(Which I don't mind, I love telling people I live here!)

Anyway, today I was looking through my map of Aust planning my roadtrip to WA when I discovered that Blowhard is definitely not the odd one out for having a funny name!

So far I've found 'Koolyanobbing' in WA, 'Cockburn' SA, and 'Iron Knob' SA.

I'm sure there's 100's more out there, are there any beauties you know of?

'Blowhard' is actually right next to 'Bald Hills'.... Were the settlers drunk when they named this area?

Just found 'Bald Knob' QLD, 'Blackbutt' in NSW and QLD and another 'Bald Hills' in QLD.

theres a place on the coast of bundaberg qld called "coonar"

there is a town on the nsw north coast called wang wauk. cockburn has the best feed on the border. always stoppin in there, and its pronounced coburn but the ck appear for some reason. we also have yunta and cootmandook.there is a town in the vic highlands called smoko and porpunka

Can't go past Poowong in Gipsland Victoria if you're into toilet humour (but then who isn't really)! and although its not a 'place' per say... Ernst Wanke rd near Narre Warren always cracks me up.... Squeak and Simmy know what I mean!!

Well I didn't dream there would be a town called Kangarilla when I named my ute and now I keep getting asked if I'm South Australian (NO!) So yep am looking for a new name for the ute.

Humpty Doo is pretty cool - do get some interesting responses when you ring insurance companies and the like...
