Price of Fuel > Good Points!

Just thinking that the price of fuel does have some good points!

Less Pollution
People will get more exercise
Healthier People
Less Road Fatalities and Injuries

There are many good positives can you think of any?

fuel prices dont really bother me too much because i am only using my vehicles for 2 weeks out of every month and michelle has a card for work related fuel expenses so she hardly pays for it either so we arent really fazed by this, i filled up a truck with deisel fuel for work in moomba the other day and the pump price for the filtered crude we use is still around $1.70/ltr even though it is produced up here and pumped around 500mtrs from the plant thru a filter system then to the pump.........

Sorry Billy but I can't see any good points on the price of fuel. I operate 7 trucks and my fuel bill has gone up almost 50% in the last six months. I think the bastards should be shot.

Well, like I just said in the other fuel-related thread, if the Govt wanted to drastically reduce the cost of living, all they would have to do is reduce the taxes on Diesel.

It effects everything, from the price of groceries, to the price of Petrol.

The more expensive Diesel is, the more expensive Petrol is, coz you need the Diesel to transport the Petrol, so it's a downward spiral.

Sorry, I can't agree that there are good points to the price hikes, cars are things that many of us need in order to get our lives running.
My ute is not that expensive to run compared to others but you try running it on apprentice wages with the price hikes, rent, food, clothes and all those other bills that just have to be paid. I'm always broke even before the price hikes.

Walking to work is a option but all the gear i have to lug around make that not an option.

Catching public transport to tafe would take 3.5 hours one way, much easier to drive and hour and a half.

So for me, price hikes have done nothing more than stretch and already over-stretched budget.

well I drive a minumum of 350kms a week just for work, so higher prices tend to take thier toll on what I do on weekends. It used to cost $40 to fill the tank now it pushes $65-70.
I would catch public transport if I could but there is none out here where I live so I have no choice to run the car.

well i guess it's good that you're trying to look on the bright side for the hike in petrol prices billy.
but with interest rates going up yesterday as well the price of living is getting so darned ridiculous.
my pay hasn't gone up that's for sure.

I thought that less people would be driving on the roads, causing less accidents, fatalities and pollution!
