Shake A Tail To Help Shake A Tin
It's time to ‘Paws For A Cause’!
The RSPCA has launched its major fundraising appeal this week and is urging Western Australians to dig deep during February to help animals in need.
RSPCA spokesperson Emma-Jane Morcombe said many people don’t realise the RSPCA is a charity, which relies on community support to continue its vital work.
“We need over $4million each year so we can continue to put Inspectors on the frontline, provide care to nearly 2,000 animals at our Malaga Animal Shelter and work to prevent animal cruelty through education,” said Ms Morcombe.
Bright blue Paws For A Cause display boxes have begun appearing in shops and businesses around Perth, giving people the opportunity to buy a pin, pen or pet passport to show their support for the RSPCA.
But the RSPCA doesn’t just need funds - it also needs people to help rattle a tin on Paws For A Cause Day on Friday, February 23rd 2007.
“The appeal will culminate with our traditional street appeal in Perth city, Subiaco and Fremantle on the final Friday of the month and we need more tin shakers.”
“It will only take up a few hours of your time, but it’ll leave you feeling good from knowing you’ve helped the RSPCA to continue the fight to prevent animal cruelty. And this feeling lasts much longer!”
