Yeah mate ya wouldn't buy one for the race track! I got an Egas BF RTV bout 4 months ago after selling me VS 3.8L ute. They do lack power down low but once revin over about 2 and a half it goes alright. You do need the sports shift auto though especially if ya ever gonna tow anything. That being said, with the amount of $$ im saving on fuel it doesnt bother me in the slightest. On the flats I average about 15.5L/100km. With gas at about 60 odd cents a litre you can do the maths!
